Verizon FIOS - TV BLINKS on and off?

I got Verizon FIOS back in January and now whenever I turn my TV on to watch cable, it blinks on and off. The show is ON because I can hear the tv, so the power never shuts off, but the TV just blinks on and off. It used to do this for about 5 minutes, now it's doing it for an hour. It's not the TV because when the cable isn't on, it doesn't do that.





Anybody have an idea what this is and how to fix it? Also, my husband said it may have something to do with the television stations going digital and we are still on a year 2000 television.

One thing I doubt you have ever done....





UNPLUG THE POWER CORD TO YOUR VERIZON CABLE BOX FOR 5 FULL MINUTES....then plug it back in and wait while it reboots...





Those boxes are like your computer...they like to lock up once in a while and cause problems like you have.....





Now...if it still blinks, it's time to VERIFY it's NOT your TV SET...


Just turn on another source like a DVD player or game and see if the TV blinks using that source of picture.....





If it only blinks with the Cable Box, then you know the cable or box is at fault...





Now you could have a bad ONT ...that's the box outside your house that has it's own power supply connected inside your home.....


HOWEVER, it should cause problems with your phone and/or FIOS internet, along with your TV signal.....but then again it can affect the TV only.....





Now, I'll let you know we had lockups, pixellation, freezing picture a couple days back ...I think on Friday and Thursday....





And your husband is incorrect...your TV will work fine with the Digital Switchover this April....
