i have a dish network receiver that has duel connections. the upstairs room is connected to the receiver in the bedroom.
upstairs there is only a coaxial connection to hook into the tv, which was fine when the old tv had a coaxial jack in the back.
the new tv upstairs is a plasma display and it doesnt have any coaxial plug in the back!? only the regular a/v jacks for various components.
so how the heck am i supposed to hook the coaxial into this tv?! or my stereo?!
i bought an RF modulator but they only work the other way around (if your tv has a coaxial and you need to hook something like a dvd player with only a/v connections)
would an old VCR work? plug the coax into the vcr and the vcr into the tv!?!?
My tv doesn't have a coaxial connection.. how do i convert the coax to the yellow/red/white a/v inputs???
I think this is a monitor and not a TV. you'll need and external receifer for this.
Reply:Yes, if you have an extra VCR, that would work. Radio shack may have a modulator that works in reverse (a/v modulator).
Reply:I suppose you don't want to pay Dish the extra $5 for a second set-top box.
Either move your Plasma monitor downstairs or move your set-top upstairs.
A VCR may work, but what a waste for a plasma, watching analog TV!!
