What does this mean? I hate watching TV. I literally can not tolerate watching anything on tv.?

If i am stuck in a place like a waiting room with a TV on, i have to go outside if possible. I haven't watched tv in my home since approximately 2003. If I am visiting someone and they have their TV on, i go in another room. It's hard to explain why i hate TV. I like radio, i like looking at news and weather and other stuff on the internet, but i can't watch news or weather or anything else on TV. Sports and sit-coms piss me off the most.

What is the cause of this weird aversion to TV?

What does this mean? I hate watching TV. I literally can not tolerate watching anything on tv.?
Not sure, but you're smarter i bet than all your other friends. TV is such B.S.

Perhaps you watched something very mind changing at an earlier part of your life %26amp; now whenever you do watch or consider watching it brings back that original feeling?

Suggest you bring over CD's or an Ipod %26amp; share with your friends. Like say, i've got this cool new band or... %26amp; that way they can turn off the TV while your there.
Reply:Television literally puts the brain into a brain wave state that makes it open to suggestion. If you consider yourself an independent type of person, your subconscious is likely rebelling against the programmable state your brain is sliding in to. Either that or you hate stupid Budweiser commercials.
Reply:One symptom of psychotics is they cannot recognize a coherent picture from the television display. I read that somewhere and wondered about myself. I didn't have a TV between the ages of 18 to 38 when a friend talked me into buying one. With a TV in my house, I decided I didn't like commercial TV. PBS was about the only thing I watched. I will not tolerate a TV where the dining table is. TV stifles conversation, which is what most people want.

You didn't list movies. DVD or broadcast movies or whether you can sit in a movie theater.
Reply:I wish I was like that - I spend too much time watching documentaries on TV, particularly those made by BBC!
Reply:Maybe you have problems having to watch the people interacting while you can't. You realize that for the most part you don't except to interact with people giving you the news, or listening to the radio. I think that you're a person who has a strong need to deal with other up front and personal and when you can't go that it bothers you on some level. Since you're not doing that when you watch TV or movies it makes you crazy. That's the only thing that I can think of.
Reply:gosh I wish I had that problem. I was raised on TV. You know a TV in every room. My G-parents use to have two or three going in the living room on the week ends, so my g-pa could watch all the football games. Now that I am older I feel like I am passing my addiction down to my kids. :( I have to actually set time so we don't have any TV on an keep us busy through out the day so we are not glued to the dummy box!

I say it means you have better things to do and have better things to do! Good for you!
Reply:i dunno... thats... odd
Reply:news and sports and then the rest is junk cannot disagree with you.......
Reply:If you were in that room for so long with nothing but a tv then it is reminding ur body of what happened and why u were in the hospital. It's probably a mind thing

It relates TV to pain or suffering

probablly
Reply:Ur normal. I don't like tv either.
Reply:Everyone has something strange about them...this is yours
Reply:I have had an aversion to TV myself. I hate the so-called "reality shows"; with the exception of documentaries.

TV is boring to me too. I've taken up reading and looking on the Internet for news. TV news is all tabloid drivel.

Good for you! You're living your life as opposed to sitting in front of the idiot box!
