Tv experts need help repairng my tv?

i have a daewoo 20 inch tubed tv the power button broke and now the remote sensor in the tv stopped working is there anyway to get the tv on and off without a remote ive already tried to unplug it and plug it back in also im 100% postive there is nothing wrong with the remote also if there is any websites that show you how to fix it that would be great i dont want to pay cause im gonna buy a new one in a few months but i just dont want to be without a tv in the meantime

What I have done for customers in your case, who didn't want to spend too much was. Pull the tv apart %26amp; remove all the broken pieces away. You can now try the remote to see if it works. If not then:


Solder 2 wires to the power button leads on the printed circuit board (also removing the old power button). Then go to Radio Shack %26amp; buy a momentary contact push button type switch %26amp; drill a small hole through the cabinet %26amp; solder that to the 2 wires. If you're just going to scrap the set anyways %26amp; you want a cheap fix, there's your answer.
