My tv can display 1080i, but when i play games on my ps3 that are compatible with it....?

My tv can display 1080i, but when i play games on my ps3 that are compatible with it the tv changes to 720p?


I have 1080i enabled aswell as 720p and 480p on my ps3's display settings


My tv does display 1080i with virtua tennis 3, but when i put in say call of duty 4 which can also output to 1080i the tv says its at 720p ? just a little niggle i want to sort....


My tv is a Mirai- unknown company, but great quality.

I'm pretty sure CoD 4 (along with most ps3 games) is only 720p, to increase framerate.
Reply:Nothing is wrong with your television. The suspect here is the game, but then again nothing is wrong with it. The default supported video output is shown on the rear covers of the game cases.
Reply:you need to make sure the games are 1080i compatiable aswell, as most games are 720p or 1080i.
Reply:You need a HDMI cable, without it a PS3 can't reach a higher limit than 720p, even though your ps3 can. So you need to go and get a HDMI cable to reach 1080i on your PS3 and TV
