Our Toshiba TV with DVD model MD13N3 (I think it's about 13" TV) does not stay turned on for more than a couple of seconds. We tried to turn on using the power button on the TV, pictures flashes, and then it turns off on its own. Same thing when we use the power botton on the remote. The DVD tray does not even open when we try to get the dvd out by pushing the open button on the TV. We think this might have happened after a thunder storm (maybe it got zapped?). This thing is only 2 years old. Are there any simple fixes we can do ourselves? Or should we just go get a new TV?

About all you can do is unplug set for a few minute then plug back in,it resets tv.If this does not work then yes its time for a new tv as replacement cost will be equal ti or close to repair cost.
