Why does my TV pick up a radio station, and how do I make it stop?

My TV is picking up a radio station -- 103.1 FM -- and plays it through the speakers. It gets really annyoing while watching TV and DVDs. The radio plays even when the TV volume is muted, and it also plays even when the cable box and/or DVD player are turned offm so it seems to be a problem with the TV. I moved the TV to the opposite side of the room, but it didn't help.





My old TV did this as well even though it was made by a different company. My computer speakers (which are in the same room) also pick up the same station, but they don't play it as loudly or as clearly. The other electronics in the house -- which are in different rooms from the problem TV %26amp; speakers -- don't have this problem. How do I make it stop?! Please help!!!

1. Generally FMs get picked up as the frequency modulations (FM) are similar to the tv's frequencies at some given points of time.


2. I used to have the same problem till i set and changed all the channels (i mean changed the nos. with help from the cable guy).


3. Try seeking help frm the cable guy (or the service provider). This may help.

Reply:Find out where 103.1FM's transmitter is. I am guessing it is close to where you live. Explain the situation to them. If they don't help call the Broadcast authority of your country and explain the situation. There are possible health risks to living near a transmitter that powerful. I would have a look into it as soon as possible.

The other possibility is that the bandwidth was not allocated properly in your area and there is interference in which case the Broadcast authority should be able to remedy the problem.





Another possibility is that you are on the same power grid as the transmitter and it is drawing more power than the grid can handle.





You may want to check how good an electrical earth your house has. The potential difference between your Earth and your Neutral should be zero. Most of the equipment you mentioned don't have earths? If there is an earthing option try use it.
