Question about TV inputs...?

I am trying to output from my computer to my TV. I have a JVC CRT TV which has component, composite, and s-video inputs. The video card on my computer has an output that looks like s-video but came with an adapter for component.





For what it's worth, my DVD player is connected to my TV with component.





When I run the TV set-up wizard on my computer and choose component outputs it then asks me to choose my HDTV definition (480i, 480p, 576i, 576p, 720p, 1080i). But my TV is not an HD set, how will this work? Or should I select the s-video option?





I just want to be able to watch movies from iTunes and other sources on my TV rather than just my computer.

Either use S Video, or set it for 480i, as most TV's and normal DVD's are interlace.
Reply:If your TV has a component input, it is EDTV, SDTV or HDTV. Do you just have one component input on the TV? Buy a video switcher that has component inputs and outputs, and connect both to the TV. By the way, 720p = 1080i. The "p" stands for 'Progressive Scan' and the "i" stands for 'Interlaced Scan'. But you knew that already.
Reply:480i or 480p are both "normal" tv signals. Use s-video if you can but dont sweat it if you cant.
