Hello, my wife and I are moving to the UK in a couple of months. We are considering taking my Sony Bravia TV with us but are concerned about whether it will work in the UK. Does anyone know whether it will? Also if we decide not to take the TV but just take our Panasonic DVD player will this work in isolation with a UK TV? We would be taking it to play my DVD collection purchased in Australia. Any advice or experiences would be very much appreciated. Many thanks, Joe and Emma
Shipping a TV and DVD Player to the UK from Australia?
if not you can get a voltage conversion kit, what you need to think about is the shipping cost, is it cheaper to buy new ehen you movd or spend all tha money on shipping, all shipping it by weight and distance
Reply:What? Voltage conversion kit? Uk and Au use same voltage.
ANSWER: Probably not - Australia use PAL-B/G and the UK uses PAL-I which means they use VHF instead of UHF frequencies. Report It
Reply:There might be a country selection option in the setup menu on your TV that will allow it to change frequencies. This goes for analogue as well, if you take a UK analogue TV over there you'll get a picture but no sound. Report It
Reply:As for the DVD player, they use region 4 so you'll need to unlock your player to play all regions. In both cases you'll need plug adapters as Australia use a 3 pin socket that's slightly smaller than a UK on where 2 of the blades are in a V shape, so a UK plug won't fit. Report It
Reply:Their voltage is the same though, so you won't have a problem with that. Report It
